The latest patch is up, for both the itch demo and Patreon beta.

Some updates include:
-Menus fully operatable via controller/keyboard
-New music for cutscenes (WIP)
-Added more visible meter for powerup timer
-Asset loading reworked to remove delays and run more smoothly
-Glitch where powerups aren't activated after respawning fixed
-Animation polished, added missing tails
