Commission Changes

Hi guys, you might or might not know I'm struggling with a really tough financial situation where I'm in the dreaded welfare trap, where I'm losing my healthcare because I'm making too much money suddenly, even though I made less this year than last. Making more money and getting the care I need for my many health needs isn't a feasible option because not even the best plans cover my most important medication, my antipsychotic, which very literally keeps me sane.
I've talked to my supervisors, case manager, agents, and all have come to the same conclusion. That I need to work less hours, and make less money to get the optimal healthcare I need. I'm going to have to work with my room mate to figure out how she can help pay rent more, hopefully with rental assistance, and we can look into affordable housing.
This means things with commissions going forward will be different until the threshold for medical insurance is lifted.
For the next couple of months, my room mate and I are going to make an effort to make enough money for a move, and once we're paying less for rent I will cut my work hours and offer commissions sparingly. However, my roomie and I are opening collab commissions where payment goes to my roomie instead of me, as a workaround. These collab commissions will be cheaper than normal commissions. Collab commissions will also be prioritized on my end since I'm only doing the quick and easy parts, so they won't have as long as a wait time as the rest of my queue.
Do note though that I am planning to raise my prices a little.
I've also taken feedback from the survey and plan to start offering sketch pages for a limited time where people can get a collage of character art sketched out for them. I'm also going to make more YCHs based on what people are most interested in. I might also offer some comic and ref sheet discounts, with the discounts being what makes up for the time it might take to finish them.
Once I figure out prices and get commission sheets together, I'll open commissions.

Yeah I really hope everything works out. My biggest hope is this will be temporary and the healthcare threshold will go up so I can start making more money again.

Gotta love this amazing healthcare system we have where people are forced to pick between how they want to die like that. It sucks that you're forced into such a position, hopefully things will straighten out soon.

I was honestly wondering if commissioning you would be a bad idea because with your situation, you may never finish it.

I'm not at risk of going homeless, I just won't have as much money to spare. Commissions have been slow the last few months because of a crisis and because I have a pile up of high detail commissions which take a lot of time. I have never not finished a commission eventually and I've done thousands of them. Also if one worries about the queue, there is a priority fee for getting something done sooner and I've been doing pretty good with that. If I work less hours, I'll have MORE time for commissions.

I also meant because of the medication you said you need to stay sane. If you can't get that, I can't imagine you'd be in a state to do coms, even if that doesn't make you homeless.

That's also not at high risk right now, the clinic that provides my medications have assured me I'll be on general funds to back me up until I can get healthcare sorted out

Can't edit my post so adding on: My Supervisors are also going to make sure I get my antipsychotics
