Getting out there
When I made Alias, I didn't do so with the intention of making friends. That's still more or less true; I'm perfectly capable of being friendly, but the less people know about me, the better. But I find myself wanting to connect with other creators, even if in a more professional capacity. Partly because despite appearances, I do enjoy social interaction now and again, but I also think that engaging with the larger community might help my own work get some visibility. I've been getting stagnating numbers when it comes to my writing, and I think I just need to engage with a fresh audience by moving in the same circles. That's not something I'm terrific at, but I'm going to try giving it a shake. Networking has never been my forte, but I'll just feel it out and see if it works.
To that end: Recommend some other writers to me? Feel free to do so privately. I genuinely do want to consume more content similar to what I create, this isn't purely motivated by my own self-interest. The things I'm into vary, so don't feel like I need people who are carbon copies of myself. I'll generally enjoy a well-written story even if it's not my personal kink or, God forbid, not kinky at all. There's something to be said for quality work regardless of content (though darker themes will tend to suit me better).
On a slightly related note, I'm considering doing some writing that isn't as directly fetish-driven. I'll differentiate it from the kink stuff somehow, though how exactly I'll do that is a problem for later Alias. That's not to say that you can suddenly expect sunshine and rainbows and kittens from me. I don't mind saying that the stuff I write is pretty dark, and that's probably not going to change any time soon. Don't expect too many happy endings from me. But this might help grow my audience too, expending my repertoire. I dunno. We'll see if anything even comes of this. I'm making no promises.
But, yeah. The long and the short of it: Tell me who I should be checking out. Send me towards stuff I'll like. And I'll try to be more active in the community as a whole. There would be something personally fulfilling in that.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers.

UnstableBill has some rather dark/existential stories that revolve around hypnosis that I’m rather fond of. And Nex Canis (Nex_Anima_Canis on FA) is very good as well though his stuff isn’t very dark at all. Both write narratively driven stuff that I find very enjoyable.
