Well, I may be white, male and hetro but I am in NO WAY Christian. I worship Athena and nothing, I mean nothing will make me change that. I've no problem with alternate lifestyle either, or, as I usually say when asked... "What two or more consenting adults do in the privacy of their own home is none of my damn business. Unless I'm invited, then I get to bring the mayonnaise."

I'm pretty sure we never left their cross hairs. Just, they're currently aiming at the "enemy within" as they like to coin it.

Trans are only the latest target to go high-profile, so welcome to the club. Blacks, gays, females, Hispanics, the poor in general have all been targeted for decades now and still are. The only up side is that in the long view of history the survivors of every purge eventually get more rights than they would have if conservatives and despots had just left it alone.

I hope we all survive to see the other side of this mess even if I know that's wishful thinking.

But people will still be hurt through these ‘edicts of hate’. And yes, trans people are only the starting point. The LGBTQ community will be included and the hate expanded further beyond us.

Yes, people will be hurt by the edits of hate. Yes, far more than just trans people are at stake here.

However anti-trans isn't the starting point. They're just the latest in a long line of targets that are still being targeted. Just because anti-trans is catching the headlines right now doesn't mean the efforts to strip rights away from all the previous top targets has cooled. They're still going after all minorities (racial and religious), women, the rest of the LGBTQ community, veterans, the poor and any drug use they don't get a kickback from the same as they have for decades. He's signed EO targeting most of those groups and other things as well. You just don't hear as much about it because most of those fights have been going on for longer than I've been alive (at 51) or at least a decade+ so they don't catch as many clicks. As a non-Christian woman with lesbian parents who's mother could only find relief in her final years from marijuana I've watched conservative hate and efforts to strip rights away for decades. The removing any right to decide what to do with your own body has always and will always be what conservatives are about.

Your Body, My Choice isn't just their stance on abortion. It's long been their stance on everything. Trans has only just entered the limelight. Many of us have been there for a very long time. So welcome to the limelight of conservative hate. We're a large and diverse group. Unfortunately most Americans don't vote so conservatives have a much stronger voice than they should have.

I’m a little more than 10 years older than you, so I’ve seen this kind of B.S. since the 70’s, so I’m no stranger to this. And I’m a target for being trans gender, Native American, non Christian beliefs. I know trans people are currently the focus, and that hatred is not only for them, but everyone else who isn’t of their ilk. Everything about this Administration is in violation of several human rights and law. The legal organizations that fight for us are now gathering their forces to combat these illegal movements that may stall such acts, but I’m afraid in the meantime, others outside the law will take action into their own hands to hurt us.

Unfortunately you know they will. And this admin and its allies will do all they can to shield those monsters. The hate-filled tend to protect their own until their paranoia about 'the other' makes that group of haters part of 'the other'. Sooner or later they all eat their own for not being pure/loyal enough. In the meantime all we can do is support those who fight and help shield those who need protection, including ourselves.

When a German friend offered to help me move before Inauguration Day and called it his "1933 moment" to do what was right in the face of something incredibly wrong, I took him seriously. I'm currently in Germany piecing my life back together. Even my mother said she didn't blame me at all for taking this chance.

We do what we have to do to survive.
