Hey guys! Another update.
CHOLESTEROL:
I got blood work and turns out I needed to go on pills to lower my cholesterol. I've been eating very healthy and exercising as well as taking the pills. but that gave me quite a scare! doc said I had a 46% chance of having a heart attack within the next 10 years, so that was concerning. That's close to 50/50, no thanks! luckily she checked it. the pills and lifestyle changes help, I'm sure they've lowered it already. some people get bad side effects from the pills, but I fortunately haven't experienced any. 👍
ANXIETY MEDS:
I'm almost off my anxiety meds now. I should be completely off in a couple weeks. I was really struggling with withdrawal symptoms but they've started to settle. minor symptoms now, that I can manage. I suspect I'll have a few days where I struggle a little bit once I'm completely off but as of right now I'm doing okay!
ARTING:
For a while now, I'd been getting migraines every time I worked on commissions. I have switched my arrangement multiple times, trying to find a solution. Trying different chairs, one of them a kneeling chair -- not even that worked. I've realized the only.way I can prevent migraines while working on digital commissions is by standing. I've moved my tablet and all else that I need to a space where I'm able to stand. It helps A LOT!!! I haven't had a single migraine since. I will say that standing in one spot for that long hurts my feet, but wearing shoes and using a yoga matt helps to reduce the pain. And anyway, I'd rather have sore feet than a migraine any day. I don't think I've ever experienced a pain greater than a migraine and this is coming from someone who's had broken limbs and invasive surgeries. I seriously pity anyone who gets them.
BUT ANYWAY, if you're a digital artist and struggle with neck or back pain, consider standing.
It's interesting but I never struggle from neck pain, no matter the position, when I draw traditionally. I'm considering offering traditional commissions as well as digital. I know how to make key frames, the ones used in traditional animation -- it might be cool to offer that. I wonder how many of you would be interested?
