My History and Dealings with the Studio System

My two companies, Adventure Movies Studios (Film Division) & Star Magic Entertainment (Animation Division) are being formed to give people like us a chance to turn our own ideas into what we want to see. I am so damn tired of the way film and animation studios operate presently that I just get sick to my stomach when I have to deal with them. I have contacted many companies over the years including Disney (who I truly dislike for what they did when I sent them a Lion King 2 idea that they initially rejected but then ironically used a slightly modified version of it two years later...) Plus, they killed Gargoyles, which was one of my favorite shows... idiots! This is one reason I would never let them get their grubby little hands on any of my projects.
They would find some way to screw them up by not letting the story be fully told. I rather turn my series into a series of novels if the animated series idea doesn't work out then work with them. Let's just say I have some history with them and none of it has been positive... I just leave it at that. Also there is the fact that Disney killed pretty much all of their 2d animation departments in favor of going 3d. How stupid can they be. 3d animation is cool and all but it isn't 2d animation. 2d animation, to me, has always been something I like to see due to the fact that I like to see animators really work their asses off to create these lovely works of art. 2d animation is art form that truly love and would hate to see go the way of the dinosaurs. The other companies aren't much better. They are so damn concerned about making a profit that they either ruin a good idea by running it into the ground or not doing it properly.
Dreamworks is one of the few companies that wouldn't mind working with due to Spielberg and Katzenberg. I would love to work with them. Hey, who knows what the future holds...

Hear, hear! It's about damn time an animation company sprung up that had a fur for pres. We've been so terribly mis-represented so far (curse disney, Grrrrr... although I have to admit, Balto owned).
Disney has ironically started working a 2d feature which is just so funny when you think about it. They fired pretty much ALL of their 2d Animation Staff not too long ago. How stupid are they? I wonder how they are going to hire new 2d animators after what they did... Hmmm... The thought just makes me want to laugh. As I get my own companies set up more and more I may just snatch some of their former talent to use for my company.
One thing is for sure I won't toss them away. Any animator I hire in the future for my animation division will get full pay and heath care benefits. Let's see Disney do better then that. Hell, I probably even toss in a free yearly vacation for them. Plus, give them sick leave if they have a family emergency. The number of companies that do this for their employees are how many now... hmm... I lost count but I do know for sure the number of companies that do what I am planning to do ain't going up.
No, it is more like they are going in the opposite direction which is straight down.
Hell, if I was Walt Disney... I would come back from the dead, march my zombie ass up to Eisner and proceed to kick his collective ass in every way possible for what he has done to my company. I can't believe the level of stupidity or corporate greed that is going on at Disney these days. They closed down the Disney Australia Animation Studios not to long ago after that branch of the company finished making... ugh... Cinderella (probably mispelled) 3: A Stitch or Whatever in Time. Good grief... all the properties that Disney created in the 1980's and early 1990's and they had to go and make another damn sequel to a classic Disney film. If they were going to close these guys down and give them a pink slip after the final project was finished they could have at least had them make a film based on... hmm... I know... Gargoyles. Geez, nothing is sacred or beyond the greedy hands that now run The Disney Studios.
I recently had a meeting with some former 2d animators from Disney and let me just say that they didn't sound too happy about being given pink slips. It is truly sad to see such talented artists being tossed away like garbage. Then again Disney and pretty much every ... single... bloody... animation studios that exist currently is more interested in producing 3d films more then 2d films.
These idiots don't get it! I don't care if the film is 2d or 3d. I will be happy with the film if it at least has a good solid story that makes me care about the characters and the struggles they go thru in the film . I loved the Lion King. I loved Pocahontas. I loved Mulan! Damn it, Disney, give me either a 2d aka traditionally animated or 3d animated movie I actually WANT to see! I am tired of the Toy Story-clones and others I have seen lately. Cars was good. I liked it but only be cause it is Pixar film. Disney recent purchase of Pixar Animation Studios doesn't make me feel all happy and cheery inside... No! It scares the collective hell out of me to think of what those poor Pixar animators will be forced to do by the bigwigs on the Disney Board of Directors... The thought just sends shivers down my spine. Pixar's image is now officially in danger of being royally screwed up in either one way or another.
Well at least 'Run Disney into the ground' Eisner is gone... 'You are the Weakest Link... Goodbye, Eisner and don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out. The new guy that replaced him has his work cut out for him. I wish him luck in fixing and correcting the mistakes that Eisner made. He is going to need it.
1. Dragon
2. Eddie Murphie
Hell, we were even going to get a Mickey Mouse film... A MICKEY MOUSE FILM!! How often has the company mascot gotten his own film?! Not often that's for sure!
There were so many projects that they tossed out to start making 3d features. Many of the animators told me that they were confused about the change of direction at Disney. Hell, one of them even said, "Doesn't Eisner realize that 3d films cost more to do then 2d films do! He should have never pulled the plug on the 2d divisions."
Disney also canceled many other projects from what I have heard. At least nine in-development animated features and 5 others in early development were shelved. I had thought about selling my story/script Rising Dragons to Disney but changed my mind. Rising Dragons is the story of seven humans who are descendants of a species known as Celestial Dragons. The series would deal with these seven humans as they battle their way across the universe encountering different species of mystical creatures that exist on the Chinese Zodiac. They would have to learn to work together as a team and the whole time they would be transforming over the course of the series into their dragon forms.
The outline for this series is for it to run at least four seasons with a 90 to 110 minute feature length film to finish the story.

If you need an artist/designer, Note me. I'll try to put together some of my better works and attempt to make myself worthy to join a rogue studio of sorts.
So feel free to submit any of your works to my e-mail address: jamieque@hotmail.com. I have tons of other e-mail addresses on aol, yahoo and google but it would take me forever to dig them up. So just use my hotmail address.
