So apparently Texas is trying to make being transgender a felony. Because of course it does.

And while it does indicate the bill is unlikely to pass, because I hope at least that people aren't bold enough to go that far, and that there are enough good people in Texas to ensure that it doesn't, although regardless it is concerning.
Should the worst happen, it would mean I'd have to grab what I can and Thelma and Louise it somewhere else, but before I go that far, I plan to donate to pro trans and trans equality causes in my state, and I plan to spread the word about this as I can to ensure that this canary dies in the coal mine.
But if anything happens to me I want folks to know why.
And if you don't know me, I'm a transgender woman. I'm a law abiding tax paying person who works a regular job. I take care of my partner and I write stories. I help people where I can and I am always open to self examination and meeting new people.
Nice to meet you.

I'm sorry for any conservative here. It's not the normal ones (and I have a few conservative friends) it's the MAGA crowd that's drawn my ire.)
If you need, move. I can't say Kentucky's any better, but at least Canada's not a festering pile of shit left in the sun in the middle of August.
Kantuck Atsilawesa (yes, I'm also culturally Cherokee, and I'm proud of it. )
And that's awesome. :) Always love to celebrate diversity. *hugs you*
I'm with you on the MAGA nuts. I think that there are still a lot of good people out there, I just wish more of them were in positions of power right now.

It's things like those cutouts in sidewalks so people with wheelchairs can use them. And it benefits people besides the target demographic, like folks with strollers and suitcases with wheels. DEI is not a bad thing. At all.
