my mother in law, nadine, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, around 2:55 pm. my husband (her son) and my sister in law (her daughter) and i were in the room with her. she was napping peacefully when she left this world.
we never saw eye to eye on a lot of things but i do have good memories of her. we always loved exchanging recipe ideas and techniques, and talking about animals. when her mental illness wasn't getting the best of her, she was a sweet, caring lady, who deeply loved this earth and the environment and the animals that live here.
she was only 67.
her last few meals were some of her favorite things; pizza, cheese, pepperoni, and pineapple and mushroom. she requested i make the beef stew recipe that was passed down to me. i made that twice for her, and she ate so, so much of it. it was the most she had eaten in over a month. she spent her last two days sleeping peacefully.
nadine, you will be missed.
