"Forbidding Unlawful Representation of Roleplaying in Education Act, pet-named the F.U.R.R.I.E.S Act"
America's going craaaaazy.
Funnily enough, won't surprise me if that has the opposite effect, lol.
I'll never forget how the way too many, contrarian classmates of mine, were reacting after we had a large gathering with someone from the gov. showing us a powerpoint about the dangers of smoking...
This is the chance for furries to become cool, because everything that's forbidden is cool xD
Looking forward to Uncle Kage to have a jab at this~

Still, I'd prefer our little Fandom to just stay off mainstream's radar beyond what weirdos already know what Furries are and poke at it.
Then, there's less chance for the misled appeasers in the Fandom to attempt, yet again, to mainstream being a Furry by cleansing it of anything deemed reprehensible, to appease and make it "safe" for normies who aren't interested in the Fandom beyond being a punching bag the first place.
In the last 5-7 years, furries are coming out of the hidden corners of the shady parts of the internet.
In person conventions are close to reaching 20k visitors and the smaller one are growing every year by a two digit percentage.
We already have seen the expected problems of many newer people wanting to normalize furries and therefore marginalize part of our community like it hasn't been the case 10 years ago. More people, more opinions and chances for extreme positions even.
Well, am surely hoping this law does not come into effect, but with the more recent atmosphere in the US and with the Democrats doing.. no clue what they are doing.. it could happen q_q
Same bureaucratic slog as in the Federal government. Governors have their pet projects fail all the time.
As for the bill? It could. But it also highly couldn't. All depends on what pork's packed on it and whose skids are being greased. Things one doesn't know until more info's released.
The thing that pisses me off is, there are stupid furries who are 'praising' this shit, not knowing where this is going... It is targeting queer and weird individuals. It has nothing to do with 'children'. Just like they wanted to get 'trans kids' ousted in schools, now they have trans people being erased from history... Furries no doubt would be on that list too, since they are queer too... And unfortunately very much in the mainstream eye these days.
Could be that furry will mean being a rebel of society in the future. It's not how we semi-oldies had it...
Wonder what the equivalent of "people started destilling their furniture" would be xD
...
I used to do all that stuff in high school and I got massively bullied for it. I still do that stuff 15 years later and I still get leered at in public, but mostly I get compliments on my swag.
Normies are silly guys. Always afraid of what they don't understand.
...So on the bright side: unless it stands for "Frequently Rejecting Immigrants, Ethnic Neighbours, Democratic Shittalks and Human-rights In Policy" - they've got all the room to grow into it now! XD
Also, The whole litter box thing is a HOAX.
