Oh yeah, DeviantArt. I've been thinking of saving my very old pics that are only on that site nowadays and remove the account too. Alas it does hold a bit of nostalgia being the first ever place where I posted my art.

I did so too years ago. "The great ragequit" I called it. I hope Deviantart chokes on the stench and dies from it.

Embracing generative AI "art" is a good sign that a business or community is on the decline. Probably a good choice to leave DA behind; it's been a dumpster fire for years now.

Fair. I never put any of my work there. Most of my stuff goes out through Fedi.

I bailed on DeviantArt years ago after Eclipse became mandatory, but the site seemed to be on the decline a bit before then. I still pop in from time to time, and it just seems to be getting worse, especially now with so much AI-generated art on the platform. It's sad to see the site go to shit. DeviantArt is where I got my start as a writer.

Definitely a wise choice! I don’t regret leaving DA years ago, and now that it’s basically infested with AI art, I see no reason to take it seriously now.

I don't blame you one bit. It's such a huge shame how low they've knelt to AI and basically abandoned the actual artists who built the site.
