In my case it means I keep seeing the same color combos pop up in your shop and I'd like you to try something new.

i understand. do you have specific colors you would like to see? there are some colors that just don't sell, which is why those don't come up often, but i can certainly try to push some out

I prefer earth tones and muted pallets with a few bright splashes of color to make it pop.

i myself like earth tones, but they don't come up much on my page because they tend not to sell (brown and green are consistently rated the lowest in my polls, which is unfortunate because they're some of my favorites/the most versatile). i can certainly push some more out though. i appreciate the feedback

If I were to give some thoughts?
Perhaps some different species to pop up would be nice rather than say a cario or phlosion. Not that I dislike them, they feel 'safe' as I think most people like them. (Not that I dislike them personally)
Colour pallete wise?
Perhaps palletes inspired by other animals would be good to see (within reason or perhaps relation)

the unfortunate thing is that people buy lucarios and typhlosions. every time i try to verge away from them and do, say, obstagoon or rapidash, they either don't sell or only sell after i put them on clearance; and that's not a great business model. i am, unfortunately, at the whims of the market :/ which is a shame, because i would love to do some of my personal favorites like mienshao or aggron or mudsdale, but monetarily they won't make up for the effort i'd put into them.

i do have a plan going forward that includes alternating between doing some 'popular' mon to feed the market and 'passion projects' like my unscrambled fossils or pokémon i really like, to balance out making money with diversifying my portfolio.

It shows how naive I am if I don't know the market myself, so fair enough on that. But I am glad you feel somewhat the same in wanting diversify yourself.

haha you're not naïve! you're on the opposite end of the market from me: you know what you want to see, regardless of if the rest of the market wants to see it, and that's not naivete c:

Personally, I would like to see more Pokemon designs that don't have the exact same markings, just in different colors. I wouldn't buy an adopt that is an exact clone, marking wise, as someone else, regardless if the color palette is completely different. That's what I would mean by "unique" :)

i can certainly do more unique markings; however that will raise my prices, as those are directly affected by the amount of time/work i put into a design.

additionally some markings are very universal/generic, like belly, toes, limb fade, saddle on the back. those will still be included on multiple adopts.
