Says it here on NPR's website... "Trump picks RFK Jr. to oversee the Department of Health and Human Services" and it was updated on November 14th of 2024 right after Trump won the election.

RFK was hand picked by the Trump Administration to be in the political position he is. You must be nominated, and then accepted. You cannot just hire yourself in. His family has political standing, but not with the GOP/Republicans. The Republicans have only scooped him up because he turned heel to the other side and endorsed Trump last year.

It is worth noting that while RFK has said inexcuseable things, many these things appear to be conflict with a previous iteration of himself. It is as if he has done a 180° in moral and philosophical beliefs according to close friends who are now ex friends. I believe that this can be related to the meatborne tapeworm doctors discoverd in him (Taenia solium) that consumed a significant but non lethal brain tissue in him and then died, even if it didnt kill him. On a literal level, he is not in his right mind, and is a changed man, for the worst. I feel sorry for him, but what he has turned into is not something you can forgive and his past self would be sickened, but sadly is dead.
