Return to DA?
With FA slooooooowly getting its act together, I'm wondering if it would be worth returning to DeviantArt. I can see so many complications though, especially my username and morons asking me to upload my old works.
But what say you? I've opened up on Blue Sky, but should I give DA one more shot? What are your honest opinions? Guide me, please.

FA+

What you're referring to is the reproduction clause of their TOS, not copyright
And the reproduction clause is basically required to run a social media site, or else they wouldn't be able to share your works across it to show other people
If you look into the TOS of any site focusing around user-generated content, you'll find basically the same thing
Moderation I've heard some horror stories about, but it's always "some guy I know" and never anyone I've met directly so I can't speak to it myself
There's an issue to be had with the content of what other people post, but honestly that's never been a concern to me; I check my Watch page and never look at recommended or the homepage
It's an art gallery site, not really social media, so I'm not using it to find new artists but more to keep up to date on the artists I already follow better than I can with most other sites
(Also it still has the best search features out of any art site I use at the moment)
Wait for FA to wake up, or stay on Bluesky.
But forget DA. Leave it in the rearview.
I think it would be cool if you returned, but at the choice is yours at the end of the day.
I've been using Bsky as an alternate site...which is now becoming my main site.
About DA tho, with all the AI art... I don't recommend going back there
With that being said, I still hope to become active on dA again someday (one can dream).
By the way ... hi, long time no see.
