Grounded Among The Stars.

The 12 foot statue of the Black women standing proud in time square.
It's breadth taking.
It stirs me like Roxikat does.
She is a creation of unspeakable beauty symmetry perfection.
Even though my mom was white, she reminds me of my own mother.
Most of all in her I see a mother.
Even though I'm a small white guy.
She reminds me of me.
That independent spirit.
The willingness to stand when it is time to stand.
She reminds me of because she's a regular person like me.
I know I might look weird. But really by Goth standards I'm a regular guy.
The point is she one of us.
Statues honoring people of great achievement and historical figures is are wonderful.
I am very unhappy with their destruction.
But her?
She reminds us of the greatness in each one of us.
She's relatable.
I know that women.
I've partied with that women.
I've met that woman's children and family.
That women has fed me
I've had her over before in my weirdo bimbo lab.
And she didn't judge me.
She has conservative values
She has liberal values.
What ever values she feels work.
Because she doesn't just stand with the left or the right.
With democrats or Republicans.
She stands UP!
UP is where she stands.
She stands for what she feels is best for her family and for her community.
It's powerful
It's bold
It's inspiring
It's everything Modern art should be.
She reminds us that even if we're not as small or as big is we'd like be, there is beauty in all of us.
It's profound. She strikes me as some one who respects and loves her self and because she is confident in who she is she is able show love respect to the people in her life.
Like Roxikat does for me.
That sculpture lifts me up.
That women sees us and we her.
She reminds each of us that should our time come to be seen when we must stand that we too can be seen when are our times comes to be seen.
Some us.... Didn't exactly....want to be seen.
We didn't want the world to see us
Because we didn't think they'd understand.
Being seen can be a scary thing.
But like Roxikat.
She is brave.
She inspires that kind of courage in us to stand when our time comes to stand.
I am so very moved by that statue in time square.
It is a masterpiece.
I just love that statue so much.
Just wow.
