exceptionalism in art or something idk

kind of all silly to think about isn't it? Talent this, starting art as a kid that, lucky breaks, etc
oh like don't worry, I hate generative learning models. But what I think a change in viewpoint I've had recently is this:
art isn't ""special"" or exceptional or divine. What separates us from the machines is what separates birds from the machines. We make art, we sing, we dance, we paint and cry for the same reasons the birds sing and the fish swim. It's just what we do, its just a natural part of us. Even the most art-hating normie has an inner life and imagination. Destroying that is what's unnatural. We can't liberate art from the production line if we keep thinking of it as a product. I think we just gotta start normalizing it. Normalizing art. Start taping bananas to walls and telling me off about whats a pipe.

Everyone's gotta make money these days, even Bob Ross talked about how artists needed to make a "happy buck" now and again. But you gotta make that art because its your drive, because the process you picked is part of you. You start selling exclusively YCHs and adoptable and commissions you are going to burn out. You keep chasing the algorithm, which is driven by dissent and ad dollars, you will burn out. Because you made something thats a piece of you separated from you to be consumed, instead of something to be shared. And it sucks because I see it all the time.
Or the other side of it, artists self destructing because their art and expressions can't be made into product, its too personal or sexual or beginner-level most people. And I feel it. We've made almost all human interaction a dance of economic evaluation and secularized purity culture and the advent of generative AI, when you're neck-deep in the mire of modern social media it can start to feel like you have no point, no place and no future. And thats the thing. We wouldnt think twice about thinking that in regards to a program or a machine. Doesnt do what you want it to? Well it was made badly! It sucks! But we cant look at people that way!!!! I dunno!!! I just feel like
idk theres no point here just tl;dr fucking log off already and start removing all techbros and anti/pro-shippers from your life. don't leave necessarily fandom but maybe consider your engagement a bit. and just draw. No one gives a shit if its bad or sellable. Just draw, god isn't real, you can do whatever you want
