BCP 2025 Thoughts!
With fourteen prompts left and us being past Halfway to Halloween, I think we should talk about what BCP 2025 is looking like in my head.
I'd like to mix things up a bit this year, as I've continued doing with these. This is still incredibly liable to change. You might actually see some of these potential options get dropped depending on interest and if I have the stamina to go through them. You might just see me say "long forms only, all Halloweens, Final Destination." I'm impulsive as balls, y'alls.
So, tentatively (and this number might also drop), I'd like to do another 31 slot split. It's seasonal, it makes sense! I'd just also like to mingle more things than prompts in here. Prompts are fun as hell, it's fun to work with them, but I need to be nice to me too so I have to give them (mostly) a break.
We'll still have them, though, if nothing changes. Ten prompts. They're fun and thematic! I like doing them!
I just also wanna branch out a little bit... and I don't think you're gonna mind what I'm branching out into. We'll also be opening for ten long-form commissions! Long-forms are what your typical story commission looks like when you think of getting a story commission, as a reminder. I write you a story and you pay per page.
There'll also be what I'm calling "template stories". There'll be five slots of these. Essentially, these template stories will follow the same format with a transformation focus.
Sounds like a YCH? Important distinctions here! I don't wanna open for YCHs when I already owe people and am fulfilling those. It feels wrong to me. Ergo... these will not be pay-upfront like a YCH. These will be pay on satisfaction like the prompts and long-forms. YCHs also tend to be pretty flexible in terms of story elements, whereas here we'll be focused on TF with a particular trigger and these'll be grounded in the event itself. Think of these more as the midpoint between a prompt and a long-form. Fixed price, fixed elements, fixed start, freedom past that. As you can see, there's a lot here that I'm playing around with, so out of these I'd say this is the format that's most likely to see changes before BCP 2025 goes live.
So, what's left here? Another experimental option. Cashmere's been running a writing group with weekly creative prompts that's been helping me hone more focused bite-sized pieces... and y'know, maybe we can try providing the fruits of my training to y'all too. I'm considering providing six slots of short, short ass single page pieces. These would be average 800 - 900 words. Snippets. Flashes of horny. Limited as much as I can. You can maybe call them word sketches? It's something to try!
These'll all fall under a new theme for the year along with a new focal character (hint hint on the template stories lmao) . Less story driven, though there'll be an intro and outro for this one as well. One of the main problems I bumped into in terms of The Camera's Eye, last year's BCP, was that the overarching storyline didn't really give y'all a space to play around in as much as I'd hope. I'd like to fix that!
I'll keep thinking on this while I keep on getting BCP 2024 raring to go, y'all enjoy the lead-up. There's a party around the corner.
Who could ask for more?
Everybody's coming, leave your body at the door.
