Looks like Nintendo is trying out a new feature. Some kind of virtual card memory.
HOWEVER!!!
It has issues.
It can take your save files away from you!!!
And lock them away behind a paywall!!!

Wii-U left people scratching their heads and/or having instant rejection. So the console is regarded as a flop.
Switch? They literally switched a Wii-U around by putting the console... in your hands. "...and so the world rejoiced and loved the thing to no ends."
It will make the retro collecting for the thing an endless nightmare. Just as well for the last of the real physical consoles... with a library that's going to be split apart by physical cards that may or may not need patches that won't always be there.
But I feel lije this is probably an issue that will be brought to their attention and they'll update the switch again to fix the issue since a lot of people are talking about it. I'm not one of those people who will defend and try to justify everything Nintendo do because as company they are really showing their true face and it's not a pretty one.
