Suddenly I'm getting appointments with the VES, Veterans Evaluation Services, after nearly a year of crickets chirp. All on an 'Expedited' bases. I've been pretty much ignored by the VA since 1977 when I exited the air force (small caps intended) and they did their 'Exit Evaluation.' Granted, I only made a couple of attempts to reach out to them since but why the sudden rush?
What? They think I'm going to die or something? I'm only 74 next month, I've got at least twenty years left if my mothers life is any indicator.

The only thing more insulting than govt., is the V.A. towards Veterans.

There's a VA rep at the welfare office I guard twice a month. Always meeting with older Vets on Agent Orange claims. His hours for that have been increased lately.

Veteran's Affairs in a nutshell. Took my dad 18 months to get approved for eye surgery. Serving in Vietnam and the Persian Gulf doesn't account for much to the pencil pushers and never has.
My wife's health insurance paid for the plastic lens now in my left eye, those stinkin ear amplifiers the VA supplied died in four months. VA has nothing to offer me that she hasn't already granted me.
