thoughts on the style shift?

so im trying to make steps towards stylizing my work a lot more now and so far it's starting with using the outlines and a new shader setup. i want my work to stand out more among other 3d art stuff. like i know my stuff is "unique" but i want it to be more so it's own thing if that makes sense. like i guess im just growing a little tired of going for the "realistic" look when that's what everyone else is doing too. i've always wanted a more hybrid style of style mixed with some realism. not just one or the other. the last pic really feels like a good step towards what im aiming for.

I've been wanting to make stuff in Blender myself, but I want to be able to set up a stylized Anime-like shader in Blender, I've tried following a few tutorials online, but haven't really been able to follow them in the setup process, because it gets super confusing with following along to all the nodes you have to chain together to get the look and style you want. I'm looking to get it somewhat a mix of a semi-realistic with Anime-style look, so you can have shiny surface on certain objects without looking hyper realistic, but also not too toony looking, with outline that can by dynamic dependent on certain facing angles with adjustable thickness of those outlines.
