Con badges are worn by anyone, but it makes it easier for us in suit. When you are in a fursuit, more traditional suiters don't talk. So you look at their badge and you can see who it is. Once you do register for a con, you will get a badge there, with whatever name(fursona) you registered with. I hope that helps. :D
