got a little trouble with the post journal button, huh?
> http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3005959/ Wonderful but make sure that the physical feature of the pool would make there legs wobbly and not standing still. ^^
Also in the light picture's add a little more shade ( not to much) so it can bring out a bit more ^^
really brings more relaxation to me ^^
The way you shade and use glow is really awesome - your pieces sparkle and stand out.
Your composition is really good and your poses are great.
-The tails, in a lot of your pieces seem like they are just tacked on. Perhaps add a little bit of lead up to where the tail is coming from if it's going to be so fluffy, such as putting a bit more fluff up the spine or making the base a little closer to the body texture. The tails are fluffy and pretty, but they do, in some images, seem to just be sitting beside the character, instead of being a part of said character.
I hope that helped!
Looks like you get a lot of commisions from others, so it has to say something good as well that people seem to like your art if they will pay money to have some art done for them. ^^
-That's just my PC though.
Your art is awesome and the darkness suites the pieces so, can't really say it's anything to be improved.
You're welcome.
As for your art- I like it. I think its messy in some areas but I still like that-it gives it an authentic feel that I'm not sure how to describe. Aside from that, you need body refs at times to do your external anatomy, hands seem to be an issue for you, so you should practice them more. And feet. I won't link to the one I have in mind, but there's one picture that you needed to focus more on the feet on. Sometimes your tails look a bit like they were sort of sewn onto a furs or other, butt.
If you'd like more, let me know. Otherwise, I love your art. You do very good art and your detailing is insane/crazy at times and I just love that.
Thanks!
Thanks, hands are feet are areas I am working on. Yes, please post more I find critiques helpful ^^
However, something tells me that you're afraid to open your wings and explore the realm of perspective, scenery and backgrounds. There are some images you've made where it seems that you either left the background as the last step and an afterthought, or even cheated with it. While those images are very good in itself, a lot more could be done to make it a lot better, with a well-done background that meshes with the foreground objects well to name an example.
A good background with a visually striking composition could mean the difference between a good/excellent image and an amazing image.
Hehe. Uhhhhhhh... What to say. Your art is dark and sexy <3
Not enough cock me thinks XD
otherwise
anatomy, poses, emotion are top notch!
And with the lack of mentioning anything that could use improvement, I hope you won't mind me adding in something I like. Your use of light and the reflection of it off surfaces is beautiful to understate it by quite some measure. On the other side of the coin, your darker pieces are gorgeous in their absence of lighting, the clever use of what is there is awe striking.
Hope this counts.
And as far as your art, there's nothing I've ever noticed that I don't like. But I have to say, what I love most is the way you color. It's got such a unique fashion to it, that's what I love most from your works
Keep up the good work I say.
I'd have to say that sometimes the contrast is a little stark, but thats just in my tastes.
Also, your glow effects can be a bit overdone on some of the darker pieces. Not saying its a bad thing and it really draws the eye, but it really makes the overall pic look darker.
Now, I took some random submissions from your gallery and looked them through... There are some minor perspective and proportional issues where the body doesn't seem to flow naturally, making it shorter, out of proportion, too wide and simply in an inhuman angle. Limbs look slightly out of place in some, and too up front in perspective, making them look larger than meant to be.
Overall though, nothing too serious, just minor flaws which can be fixed with just moving a few lines.
Far be it for somebody like me to critique your work, but I'll give it a shot. Overall I think you have a spectacular usage of anatomy and lighting, especially the latter. The neon-glowing highlights sometimes featured in your works is just awesome. Gives it an otherworldly feel.
One thing I feel is sometimes missing is a genuine sense of emotion or involvement of the characters. I know it can sometimes be hard to depict in erotica, but it seems some characters exist, but don't feel -- if that makes sense. I'm not saying it's a consistent feature, but it sometimes feels like the characters aren't really excited by the scenarios. Again, it's not overwhelming, and by no means does it make me not check out and appreciate every single piece you upload :3
My top recommendations would be to work a bit on lighting. In some of your full color works the shadows are a bit too thick and detecting the direction of the lightsource is difficult at times. Unfortunately this takes quite a bit away from the picture, furthermore lighting is rather difficult to fully master.
Your eyes in most pictures are personally off putting. They seem fixed in a stoic position and often come off as lifeless.
I like your use of colors usually though. Excellent use of contrast a lot of the time and I like how much you put into your sketches. They turn out very nicely even as just that.
/suckup
you are especially good with manipulating colours and contrasting colours into your picture, as well as water effects, its stunning. eg/http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3005959
only crit i could give is the slight lack of weight on some pictures the characters dont always seem 100% part of the background..if that makes sense eg/http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3116967
- but i cannot crit too much about that because i know i lack that myself (as well as many other things :()
the examples are not specific, just an example of what i mean in general ^_^;;
im so sorry, i should read it all before comenting
cant wait to see what the new year brings C:
!. Your Artwork always seems to have a them color which while good makes it harder on alot of the dark color themed images for some of us to actually see in detail all the hard work you did on the image.
Really thats the only thing i see wrong with any of your arts, you do amazing work and i think whoever wins this will be extremely lucky to win it. I love your artwork and how detailed it all is, your work is great, thanks for letting us watch your art ^^
if anything i would just say make things a touch brighter, so they can be seen abit more easy..
thats about it ^.^;;
The first is colour. A lot of furry artists have a very literal interpretation of colour, and really don't experiment with it, especially in regards to tinted illumination or restricted palettes. I'm happy to say this is not a problem your art suffers from.
The second is, paraphrasing Steve Ballmer: portraits portraits portraits portraits portraits. It seems like every single furry picture is just "picture of [character] possibly doing [something] to/with [other character(s)] in front of [background]". It's incredibly rare to see a picture that depicts an actual interesting scene, a snapshot of life, a moment of a story, that just happens to have furry characters. It's bad enough that it's hard to even come up with a counterexample (Kacey does one on rare occasion, as does Mr Dog). Yeah, it takes more effort to draw a whole scene, and more inspiration to even come up with a scene to draw, but I think it's worth it.
Thirdly, we have style. I don't mean to say that any one particular style is good or bad, the problem I see is that so many artists only have one. Now, it's no crime to have a preferred style, whatever that style may be, but it's disappointingly limiting if that's the only style you can manage. I think the mark of a truly great artist is that they can not only draw masterfully in their own style, but can also draw competently in any other style. I think it should be a rule of thumb that, as an artist, you should strive to spend at least 10% of your creative time drawing in styles completely foreign to you.
Finally, furry art needs more corsets. Mmm, corsets.
So all in all, there isn't really a lot wrong with your art that isn't also wrong with everyone else's art on here. Besides the above, you could probably work on better and more integrated backgrounds, and drawing tails that don't look like someone stapled a wig to their butt (there's bones and muscle in there too, don't forget!), but those points have already been covered in other comments.
l hope that helped, lm not so great with critiques =3
Your art is wondrous, it's so different and unique from others, that it provides a fresh taste of something new.
Anything that I could ask you to improve on is just one of the things that makes it your own unique style, so I dare not make you change that.
You like using dark colors. You shade a bit thickly. Your lines are soft and smudgy, and they're not very defined. These aren't flaws, they're what I notice that make you different from other people. Or at least, they're what I notice first off. The minor details that I notice that make your work so wonderfully fresh is the faces, and the poses/actions.
Honestly... Don't change a bit.
One thing you can improve on all of your charecters seem to be in the same area in the art. Maybe have it off centered could improve it a little and make the art seem more varied.
You a talented artist. :3
:)
Improvements.... hmm, I'd say you should do more art with clean lines, more like you did in the past.
Also, experiment with lighting more often, you're clearly quite capable of pulling it off!
Keep up the good work!
Some of your pics use entirely low-value/luminance, high-saturation colors, to the point of not having enough contrast for the viewer to see what they're looking at. A "dark" feeling is communicated with several techniques including lighting design, but you can't just turn down the lights. Contrasting these to your pastel flat-colored pieces, it's almost like you're two different artists (which is good, but meet in the middle!)
Purple hues over-represented - the green half of the color wheel got nuked from orbit? I've got nothing against a favored palette, but if it wasn't for Xianos's commissions, I could go red-green colorblind looking at your gallery and not notice.
Your compositions sometimes break out of pinup and into a scene / compelling gesture / visual storytelling; there's always room for improvement there. Every time someone asks for general c&c on FA, I can always say, your compositions could use more background work, but you're better than most in this regard.
I hate to just criticize; good anatomy (not perfect, but everyone needs to practice hands and feet), dynamic line weight, detailed fur rendering (when you take the time to go into detail), dynamic poses and composition (for pinup, at least). Even if you think I'm completely off-base here, you do good stuff, and you'll always be on my watchlist.
I think the only thing I'd suggest is experiment! Alot of your art is really nice, so maybe try for some warmer colors instead of darker. And maybe do an expressions experiment. :D
BUT what I've come up with are two relaly simple things: number one, maybe work on more dynamic poses and shots. (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2609237/ is a good example of what I mean... actually, that gallery has SO much amazing stuff in it @.@ again, overwhelming) instead of simply having the charact(s) 'standing' there, or just right in the middle with little to know 'camera' angle, you know?
My second thing is speed. Maybe work with speedpainting some? Lol, like I said, I had to LOOk, so this is sort of graspoing at straws, since you want to for sure give your commissioners quality work, but... it's something that can be improved, right?
happy new year :)
The only other thing is that some of the images that depict "rougher" acts of sex seem to be lacking sweat. o.o
Otherwise I cant say I see much else c.c
well i hope you got some good advice out of all of this. i saw a good amount of nice critique when i was reading through other peoples responses.
Hope you had a nice new years!
