Ever since my stay began at the Treasure Island Job Corps for Advanced Culinary Arts training (chef), I knew the internet would go wherever the system wanted. Last Friday REALLY showed me how far in being pissed off I can get. I can't use meebo, nor the web proxies I use to look up other sites like this that the filters block me from using. Meebo btw is a online chat system which enables you to use multiple IMs at once including Yahoo, AIM, MSN, and a few others. There was a new security patch that was installed during the Good Friday weekend (since it was a government observed holiday, I got that day off from training), I couldn't go ANYWHERE!! I typed in a new site to go to in the address bar, but the damn thing brought me back to the spot where I had to download it, but the network administrative settings PREVENTED that from happening! Talk about contradicting itself. Basically, the DOL (Department of Labor) beat a dead horse with a stick (sorry bout the prudent proverb, but hey, it proves a point). The internet was working JUUSSST fine. Now a bunch of sites can't be viewed. However, the other rooms here can go to the proxies and meebo! WTF?! If anyone's reading this, please send me a list of all the proxies you know. Most of them have https instead of http so include the whole nine yards in the addresses.
