Lately I feel that my overweening pride is being a huge barrier for me. Or maybe obstacle is the better term. At work, I've become so entrenched in my job that I have a lot of pride in what I do. One of my new co-workers called Space Mountain "a kiddie coaster in an amusement park," basically totally dismissing my job and what I do. I was pure rage over that off-hand comment. I see so many people trying make themselves seem important or better than others, but what's the point? I have as much right to live/work/play as anyone else. I don't want to build my life on false realities, but neither do I want to cow to the man. Where's the balance?
