Re: the user count - I'd wonder how many of those were fake/bot users; I believe they've working to address those recently.

This is my primary site but, I know of several who have flat out given this site the finger. On account of the DDOS attacks, or just their general rules/methods. It's like people established on Twitter (Which I refuse to use) not having bluesky profiles

I still use FA because the most popular sites for posting art after it are social media. Which most don't have a good gallery system. There's more furry art sites available but they either lack the reach, the numbers, or allow content I'm not comfortable with.

I still use FA as my main gallery to post art and accept commission. Sometimes I commission artist that I found in FA but contract them via other platform because I don't like the note system lol.
Compare to my time using other site like social media (I only use mastodon and bluesky) and FA then yeah it has reduced a lot. I'm only here once a day or when I have something to post.

As other have already said, it's the best place to follow most furry artists. Even morso with all the recent censorship stuff going on...

I have to use FA lol. I will say it's only for work. Post adopts, check messages, see if artists I follow are up to anything. Leave. Come back in a few hours to see if any new claims have happened, if not I leave.

I feel like even people who aren't using this site as a way to sell art do similar. There's no real staying power you just kinda scroll a little and get bored/leave. When the site has a bunch of art being uploaded stats tank, that and since the new search features have rolled out I've noticed a decline in activity too, especially when the gender dropdown was removed entirely

I'm actually using it now more than I ever have. Although I don't have much luck selling my own commissions, I do find a lot of really amazing artists to follow and commission or buy adopts from. And bonus points for FA being anti-AI. You're not going to find that on many art sites nowadays, looking at you DeviantArt.

It's still quite active. (Of course, some accounts might've gotten a boot that belonged to scammers and such).

Still use it sometimes but ain't as active as i used to be, used to buy a lot more art and actively comment or note friends occasionally, maybe even check the charity groups see if i could pick something up from someone who needed help but just an occasional commission anymore
