Regarding Any Upcoming ID Verification Systems
3 months ago
So, with the current state of the things, I figured I should let you know what my intentions are moving forward, now that YouTube and many other social media sites are gearing up to implement this mass ID age verification system in the coming weeks.
First off, to be clear. I WILL NOT BE GIVING MY ID TO ANY COMPANY OR GOVERNMENT ONLINE!
And before you ask, NO, it has nothing to do with me being secretly under aged. I'm 32 years old. I honestly could care less what age they think I am. That's not the problem. The point, is that both governments and companies are rolling out this new system world wide, in order to seed the beginnings of what will likely become digital ID, a surveillance state, social credit scores and massive censorship control. In other words, they want to go full Big Brother, all under the guise of "protecting the children."
That being said, I'm NOT going anywhere, I will continue use the internet and YouTube as usual, unless they ask for my ID. At which point, I will simply not comply.
And whether you agree with me or not, or you think that I'm just being paranoid or conspiratorial, that's up to you. You do whatever you feel like. Just keep in mind that putting your government issued ID onto hackable and likely unsecured servers, is within the general realm of bad ideas. The TEA app is the perfect recent example. Millions of women just had their ID's and personal information leaked out onto the web for everyone to see. To believe that any government or company would properly secure your identification is laughable.
...
We are seeing this new verification system roll out in places like Europe, Australia, Canada and unfortunately it appears to be rapidly making it's way to the States. Apparently The United States Constitution and the first amendment mean nothing anymore. Since foreign influence is pushing American Tech giants into compliance. YouTube is proactively implementing an automatic AI identification system. One that will determine your age by the kinds of content you consume. If it deems you are under aged, You can correct this by uploading a government issued ID. Which I will NOT be doing.
Let's face it. It is a very unfortunate fact that animation is largely considered by most people, as being strictly for children. Obviously this is not true, but that is the sad reality we live in. We all know that YouTube AI's and algorithms are at some point going to label me and every other animator out there as "FOR KIDS." I can't even begin to tell you the number of times I've come across a very adult animation that included swearing, gore, drugs, adult situations and even nudity. Only for it to be labeled as "FOR KIDS." Simply because it is animated content. The algorithm is incredibly stupid.
In a somewhat funny and ironic twist, the odds are very likely that children who are desperate to trick the AI into believing that they are adults, will proactively watch tons of adult content. Meaning that this will actually lead to a dramatic INCREASE of children watching the exact kind of content YouTube claims they are trying to curtail.
...
So where do we go from here? Am I saying that we should simply stop using the internet. NO! Not at all! What I'm saying is that we should not comply to foolish and blatantly evil attempts to control the world. It is time we began to decentralize and return the internet to the way things used to be.
Once upon a time, in a place called the late 80's to early 2000's, there was a magical kingdom known as, The Internet. What made this kingdom special, was that anyone could have a piece of it. You could own your very own mini kingdom. These mini kingdoms were called, Websites. It was a joyous time. You could post what you wanted, say what you wanted and people from all over the world would occasionally stop by to see what you had to offer.
THEN THE DARK AGES HIT!
or
THE FIRE NATION ATTACKED!
Which ever you prefer.
The internet was conquered by Big Tech Giants and everyone was forced into centralized internment camps called, Social Media. A place where you couldn't say what you wanted, do what you wanted or post what you wanted without the guards coming by with big ass sticks to beat the ever living metaphorical shit out of you.
I think you get my point.
...
I'm not looking at this like a doomer. I think this is a fabulous opportunity to rebuild the web the way it was supposed to be. But in order to do that, it requires that we do not comply to their demands and we start building individualistic websites once again.
I used to see so many amazing artist with their own sites. They were great! The sites themselves were a canvas of creativity. It was interesting and you never knew what you were going to find. That is what we could go back to, if enough people were willing to try.
And I know what you are thinking. It's so much harder to be discovered or get your website seen! Well, yes and no. Google is not a search engine anymore. It's a wall of advertisements and AI generated responses, but there are still some good search engines out there and some new ones in development. We just need to find them. I personally use Brave search. I think they are pretty good.
We also used to be seen by adding ourselves to directories. In addition, many sites (Including mine) still use RSS feeds, which in my opinion should have been how we subscribed and kept up with people.
...
Where you can find me?
Like I said, I'm not going anywhere, unless I'm asked for my ID. Maybe I'll get lucky and they won't even bother with me, but I'm not taking any chances.
I'm going to drop a link to my websites "links page." It list everywhere you can find me online. So if disappear from one, you can find me on another.

As far as YouTube is concerned, again, I will continue using it until I can't.
I encourage you follow me on Rumble, who I am hopeful will avoid this ridiculous system. They've done a great job of saying F U to foreign governments and their censorship demands in the past, so I consider them a viable backup to YouTube.

Hope things work out
Already installed Firefox with about 400 adblockers and I am downloading every youtuber's videos that I frequent, as well as messaging politicians about why children will be harmed as a result of KOSA and the potential lawsuits that could befall them (and YouTube) should it pass.
