How would you feel...
If a person you care about drunkenly calls you at night, saying they're fed up and have a box cutter in their hand. And they beg you to tell them everything will change and get better. And you do everything you can to comfort them and that yes, everything will be better. You tell them this over and over again until they put down that box cutter.
And that tomorrow, when everything's calmer, you'll talk more in depth and find a solution.
But the next day they don't show up, or the next day, or the day after that. They simply haven't given a single sign of life for over a week.
How would you feel about that person?

As Ragnarakk saids.. its their choice.. you can only help.. not decide anything... im sorry if that is something that happened to you
If a person is threatening to take their own life, and then they are not responding to calls: that's a wellness check. If you don't want to involve the police, you could try to reach out to a friend or family of the person who might live nearby.
These days it's just another name on the list of disappearances I can do nothing about.
