So I was notified by my landlord yesterday on August 24th, after I had filed a formal complaint to my landlord about another tenant violating the lease by smoking in the house, that he would not be continuing my lease and that I needed to move out by September 23rd or face eviction. This was quite clearly an act of retaliation because how dare I request that my landlord uphold his contractual obligations to answer to complaints made in good faith. I've been unable to work since June 26th due to a workplace injury I explained in my journal 3 weeks ago, and even after surgery I'm still fighting to get the finances I need.
I have nowhere to go, no family that can help and the closest friend who can help me find a place to stay lives 1200 miles away from me. I'm facing the very serious threat of homelessness and even if I could fight my eviction, I have no money to pay a lawyer to do so.
