Moved

I moved 140 km away from my old place.
It was an incredible hassle, and stupid expensive, though the stars aligned in many aspects and overall it could have been far worse.
I traded my top floor apartment with the roof slope intruding onto the living space in the middle of nowhere for one with 2.5 m ceilings just on the outskirts of a city.
It's hard to understate how nice it is to be able to just... go places and do things without having to drive somewhere, park my car, et cetera.
The tram stop is approximately 20 metres from my front door, and I'm 4 minutes from the supermarket, and 6 minutes from the pool where I now go swim every day after work.
In short, I'm glad to have done it, but I hope I won't have to do it again for a while.

I'm stuck in a place with atrocious bus connections (Do you want the 6:10 AM out, the 9:10 out or are you now late for anything?) and jack fuck to do, so X_X. Big fat relatable.
Congrats!
Two tram lines, one each 7 minutes each direction, and one bus line going every 15 minutes.
I accept it's far noisier here, but genuinely I was atrophying out there in the countryside, and am genuinely grateful that my application was accepted ^^
I'm a big city boy, I was used to certain types of noise but having lived in friendly boonies for ten plus years now, it does absolutely show you how hard things can be.
Simple trip to the vet? 45 minute + walk up 2 bastard hills one way, pushing a 20+ kilogram dog X_X.
Bout the most convenient thing here is the supermarket 15 minutes away, you know?
New place I'm also moving to in a week is gonna have the long walk for the supermarket thing but it'll be a lot more quiet than this area, at least. Closer to more major transport options & a bigger city, etc.
I can't fucking wait lol.
*hugs*
I hope you'll manage to create your own happiness the way I have.
Maybe it will wear off eventually, but I doubt that. In any case it's good to be out of where I spent COVID anyways, too many bad memories.
*hugs you back*
what ever makes you happy! :3
it must be awesome now being able to walk to where you need to go most of the time
Also a lot easier to host friends passing through here, since it's a lot less out of the way.
Still not entirely settled yet but should finally have proper internet by the time I come back from EF ^^
