Deep in the landscape,
Lies an island close to the edge of the world,
In ages past,
It is said that a meteor landed on this island, and from there, the native people of Midgard began to congregate.
This place is known as the Midgard Island.
A place where Ezin is told to investigate. But simply mentioning the word strikes fear in the heart of Unchantis citizens, who say that the island brings death and misfortune.
Still, Ezin presses onward, not out of sheer curiosity, but simply to seek validation from his peers, and also to be away from the people who make him feel alone.
The ship ride to the island is long and stormy.
But when they approach the island, and Ezin at last sets foot on the island, he is surrounded by the calm waters, serene birdsong, and finds himself at a loss.

In the distance, he spots a young woman waiting for him. The smile she wears on her face is geninue, and lights up what little fire is left in Ezin's heart.
