Politics, as this is driving me mad.

I'm posting up a rare political journal, because recent things I have witnessed are compelling me to speak my mind. I've always been one who advocates clarity on ones stance, even if there is backlash. Because if you are not honest, how can you expect to be taken seriously? In any reasonable debate you have to expect to offend and be offended in turn, something you can't do if you don't have free speech.
But, to my point. And bear in mind, this is me sharing an observation of an event and posing a question. And I say this because asking this question apparently makes me a fascist somehow.
Last night while playing Warcraft, I was made aware through the chat that Charlie Kirk had been shot. I knew of the guy but nothing in depth, having seen a handful of his videos on Youtube. I wasn't an avid follower, but some things he said I agreed with, some things he said I did not. But I did agree with the advocation of talking and debates over violence, and I believe that dialogue should be the first means to resolving any form of conflict. I also believe that escalation to violence is an unfortunate, but sometimes necessary result.
What disgusts me about the entire incident, is how many people were not only celebrating his being killed, but also calling for more blood. And not just in a game, but on social media as a whole. Not only were they enthusiastically cheering his death, they wanted to broaden it and see more people who were even remotely "right leaning" murdered.
Is this what we have become? That celebrating someone being killed is not only the norm now, but expected? And not only that, for not agreeing with and championing such a violent opinion, that I myself should also be dragged out and killed?

Small things such as wearing glasses or wearing the wrong clothes could make you a target
I for the first time nearly was that for wearing a simple orange T-shirt the color of the Sanseito Party, I went to a McDonald’s to eat breakfast, a man saw me and nearly advanced towards me, having to need his girlfriend push him out of the restaurant simply cause I forgot it was still fresh results of the House of Councillor's elections and Sanseito won 14 seats.
Simply put I will never see them as peers.
I would have thought that the very definition of being "far-left" is the antithesis of being a MAGA supporter, but logic seems to be in short supply in 2025.
Off topic, curious how you found this journal. We're not watching one another (I did a take of watchers this morning when I posted this journal, just to see if it would spark unwatches), so just a bit of curiosity from my end.
Also fact: the Palestinian are the modern day Filistine from the bible, the same whom made Dalilah cut Samson's hair and blind him, in Arabic they’re still called Filistine, only in the west they were given the new name, not saying this condemn Israel actins no there are also bad decisions from their sides just saying this fact to show Palestine aren’t 100% pure victim saints as the left paint them to be.
There's no sympathy to be had for these people if the best they can do to argue their point is flat-out murder.
To put it plainly, the man was rightfully despised.
Having said that, when it comes to members of the Fandom acting the way they do, there's three things that come to mind:
- two-thirds of the Fandom are somewhere within the LBGT+ demographic;
- at least a third of all online traffic to furry sites is from the US alone; and
- the Fandom has a habit of attracting and welcoming outcasts and weirdos of all stripes.
Given the inherently polarized American political hellscape, with LBGT+ being overwhelmingly "left wing" by (very low) local standards (what constitutes the rest of their "right wing" makes conservatives in my area look downright progressive by comparison), it doesn't at all surprise me in the slightest that we have weird-ass chucklefucks in the Furry Fandom that think and act along those political lines when they're not jorking it to wolf porn.
I speak as a foreigner, but between this kind of shit and a nation seeing fit to discourage, stupefy, and alienate its voting population into electing a cheeto-covered taco who's threatened to annex other countries (mine included), it's exceptionally hard not to lose respect or sympathy for the entire American population at this time, with few individuals being the exceptions that prove the rule. My only hope is that whatever they deserve doesn't try to jump the border.
It's justifications like these that wont end with Kirk either. It's why this particular event has got so many people in that mindset of we've hit the point where things will not be the same, that we've been shown that they do not want civility, they want bloodshed, and have proven, like socialists have always done throughout history; the ends justify the means, even if it means killing innocent people and making people live in fear.
Seeing people I know spout the same madness truly sinks my soul, some are hypnotized, others are sincere about it. It makes me groan and question myself why im in these spaces at all, you're brave to make such a post here, i dont doubt youve lost follows for simply advocating for civility rather than brutality.
The vast majority of political assassinations in this country have been done by people who were on that side of the aisle, politically, and not infrequently it has been a case like this where someone was killing someone for not hating *enough* for their tastes.
