Back from AFC 2025
We interrupt your program with a quick word from our host... AFC was a blast once again!
First thing I wanna say is how smoothly the registration was this year. I arrived shortly after the con opened, but I was inside the center in barely any time compared to last year. They had a separate registration line in the hotel block, and I breezed through that in minutes. There was a line for reg, but even at that early time it looked like no more than a ten minute wait.
Dealer's Den had quite a nice lineup once again. Even managed to find a few booths with fatfur art once again. Bought a good handful of stickers, a well-crafted blanket with an orca + storm theme, and more pins.
Knew more people at the con this time. I went with buddies from my university's club, saw some familiar suits from last year, and even met a brand new fatfur clan. I and a whole bunch of people were surprised to find little paper-sized posters for a Greek Bacchanalia themed club, featuring pictures of two rather chubby cow characters, and a description which included the words "Gluttonous" and "Hedonism" in the same sentence. Long story short, there was a second fatfur meet at the convention.
Also like last year, the panels were fun. I made it to a handful, including Furry Found Footage, a panel on pigeon awareness, a panel on an adult animation about police horses, and Anime Hot Takes (I should have posed the question if King of the Hill is an anime). I popped in a few others, but these ones were the ones I planned to go to.
I did some sketches, not good ones as I've had so little time to draw since the semester began, and even got a chonky sketch from
koidelcoyote!
I got home safe. It's good to be home, but I'm looking forward to the next AFC already.
