Monthly Musings: spooky month 1st edition

so uhhh... well I got started on a new story... or rather, I'm about halfway through the story when I look back through it and i noticed it all just felt dry. and I'm starting to wonder if maybe I should throw in the towel and really recharge my creative batteries... or it's possible I've just had little motivation to be as detailed with this one as I was with this. and now I'm just confused whether I should take a step back and rewrite it to fit that detailed nature, or if I should just lean into the lackluster detail and make it minimalist word-wise and leave the feelings up to interpretation/implication. also it feels like I'm rushing through the story despite the fact that I've been taking my time writing it one paragraph at a time... or maybe I'm really just experiencing writer's block.
whatever the case, I hate it, and feel like there's not much I can do to remedy it beyond actually pushing through.
also, as a heads up, my writing's going to slow down for a while as I'm going to the DM of a d&d campaign with a couple friends... and upon saying that I'm starting to wonder if maybe that's what's causing my hang ups.
