Before anything else, bear in mind that this is strictly a yes or no question. Any elaboration or further information will be strongly disdained. Despite the length of this journal, DO NOT leave an extensive answer, as anything aside from my precisely requested information would be considered a spoiler. Thank you.
I'm recently playing through the original Dragon Quest 5 for the first time and could use some help figuring something out. Is it possible to recruit new monsters when your party and caravan are full? I've heard some accounts say yes, that the monsters will be sent straight to the monster day care. But after having cleared two entire dungeons (one of which I technically ran through twice to grab some chests I missed), and just now having farmed about 50 consecutive battles on the field to try testing it myself to no avail, I'm having my doubts about that information. Especially since there are later versions of the game that could be confusing either people or AI answers. Made all the trickier by trying to find a 100% spoiler-free answer to the question, preventing me from digging any deeper into the game's mechanics.
So, assuming anyone who happens to see this journal is qualified, I want to hear it from somebody with extensive experience playing the original Dragon Quest 5. Is it possible, in the SNES version of Dragon Quest 5, for new monster recruits to offer to join you when your active party and caravan are both full? Again, only provide a yes or no answer.
