Got a medication for my panic attacks

Talked to my psychiatrist today and mentioned with more insistence about my panic attacks. I was prescribed Alprazolam (Xanax) for them. It was getting to such a point as those paralysing attacks could last hours and put me in so much pain. I know have some in preparation for nordicfuzzcon.org
What do you get panic attacks from?
