Found a temporary replacement desk chair
I found a temporary replacement chair. And I really didn't want to have to use it. I found it free on a curb last year by a friend's house, and put it in my storage as a possible backup. But it's uncomfortable, the hydraulic is broken, and the vinyl on the back of it got sticky because I thought I could fill in the gaps with black flex-seal. Had to cover a lot of the back part with black duct tape. And for the broken hydraulic, I used a workaround I saw on youtube. You basically set the hydraulic to your preferred height, and then put tape just above the part where the shaft inserts into the cylinder. Then over that tape, you put a hose-clamp. That locks the hydraulic where it is. I had a hose-clamp in my toolbox, so I used it. But I hate this chair, and hope to find a better one like my previous one soon.
But here's something amusing, I walked into the thrift store with my nephew earlier to see if they had any new office chairs in, and they had one. It was none yesterday. Only problem was, this one had no arm rests. So I couldn't use it. I gotta have arm rests. But my nephew took a look at it, and decided he wants it as a future gaming chair. It was just $8, so he bought it. Ironic, I went into the thrift store looking for a desk chair, and my nephew walks out with one instead of me.

Hey, at least your nephew seems happy.

OP
Well he's working on making his own way. But now he wants to use his savings to build a gaming PC, instead of saving for a future apartment.

I woulda bought it. An uncomfortable chair is the worst. I'd recommend keep looking or more like just keep an eye out. There's lots of comfy corporate chairs and you need some you can sit in for hours. I think one game of dune 2000 a game I'm fond of takes about 3 hours or so. Minecraft 5 hours. Writing lessons plans takes literally all night. So a chair is actually pretty important.
