I would imagine a full fursuit starts off at $2000, quite a lot, but well worth it given how detailed you make yours.

This may be a stupid question, but...

Why do you close quotes instead of/in addition to closing the queue? Does it do something that still doing quotes with a closed queue wouldn't do?

I close for quotes in addition to closing for commissions. With commissions, it's fairly obvious why I would close - within a few hours I tend to have more work that I can handle in a certain timeframe, so when I have enough work I close for new commissions. That way I don't get overloaded and backlogged.
With quotes, I actually still get overloaded and backlogged. I tend to get something like 10 emails a day on average, and each one takes me anywhere from 5-20 minutes to answer. That a lot of time per day when I should be working. Generally, also, I only get to about half of these emails a day, and so a backlog builds up over time. If I only have requests open for a defined period time, I can concentrate on emails for a while, and then when I close, clear the backlog and concentrate on my work.

Good heavens! I wouldn't have thought there were enough of us to sustain that kind of volume for very long! Yes, that completely makes sense now. Holy carp.
