Basically if I recall they wanted you to submit you face or government ID into your account as part of a protect minors from adult content.

Anyone who doesn't do the facial recognition or id and refuses their accounts will be marked as Minor accounts and given limited access on discord

Fun fact the third party that was working with discord was a agency that was developing a network to scan user faces and IDs to see if anyone was on a government watch list and would submit folks who's IDs and faces that matched to be flagged in a government system.

Many folks over on discord protested by cancelling their nitro accounts and listing the id ,and facial scanning as the issue and that folks shouldn't be penalized for minors joining online because their parents can't teach their own kids how to be safe online.

Discord apparently now released a statement saying that they are rereviewing the id and facial recognition ai and seeing what other options are available after the mass call out they recently had. The date for the stuff to go into effect from what I just saw a day ago the date will now be some time late.summer to fall when they plan to re bring stuff up. I don't trust them but it's a better start.

Also considering the massive beach of folks data from the uk where IDs and faces were stolen a class action lawsuit could go into play. Time will tell.

So long story short if you had discord for years but don't agree your account would be flagged as if you were a minor and your restricted on where you can go and what you can do.
