Yes, my poor desktop has finally succumbed to entropy. I need a new HDD to ressurrect it. Maybe soon. If anyone wants to support my getting a computer by commissioning me please send me a note. Please.
Is there anyone in the Pensacola, Mobile, Fort Walton Beach area that has an income and wants a puppy? I have three adorable little welsh corgi/austrian shepherd mixes that need homes as soon as possible. They are driving me BONKERS. I'll post pics as soon as I can or if anyone asks, and if you want one I'll bring him to you(yes, him; all three that need homes are male). They are paper trained for the most part and are about six months old. Very,very smart dogs, and quite friendly. I really want to make sure they get good homes. If you're interested note me.

You can get new old stock obsolescent HDs on eBay for very reasonable prices. The most reliable are the Hitachi Ultrastar line, most of which are rated at 500,000+ hours MTBF (mean time before failure). 500-1000GB ones are still a bit pricey, but ones under 250GB are cheap.

I just need something to boot from. I've got a pair of 250GB externals for storage. I might actually have something lying about, and if I do then all I have to do is get an OS and I'm all set.

God no, I haven't gotten a new computer since I was fifteen. They've all been secondhand, and not ONE of them has still had the restore disk. I've had to do it the hard way every time c.c

Ouch! Most of my computers have been second or later hand, but they came with the restore discs.

*nods* Likely from more reliable sources than mine have come from. One of them was even a homebrew cobbled together from three or four old towers.
