Surgery didn't go too well

I woke up from my surgery around noon today to find that my outpatient surgery had become inpatient.
My skin infection spread across my mesh and it had to be replaced. They replaced it with something that isn't gore-tex so I have experimental fabric in me. If I had needed to go straight to a new gore tex patch they would have had to remove muscles from my back and transfered them to my front side.
That would have had me in the hospital for at least a month.
So hoping that my infection is gone now for good so this mesh doesn't need to be replace.
Also hoping that the experimental fabric doesn't need to be replaced anytime soon.
More prayers would be appreciated as I'll get out of the hospital tomorrow but have to stay in Florida until at least Wednesday. Plus I have a few important tests that are being processed so I could use some prayers that they come back without irregular cells.
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers thus far.

*whispers, 'never a fear on that account - you are a good friend'.
what hospital are you at?

I'm still in Tampa but live in Cincinnati OH...don't get to go home until the end of the week though.
*smiles...
I thank God every day for modern medicine. When I was young, all they could do was make you comfortable.
Be well hun... you can beat this. I ran into an old neighbor when at my XX class reunion, and she had cancer. The doctors gave her six month at best - and she simply refused to give up. She's still alive and kicking and out in the work force.
*hugs...

Without modern medicine I would be absorbed by tumor b/c by the time I got to surgery I actually had to fight a doctor to get one to operate on it. My tumor was the size of a foot ball and to remove it all of my left side stomach muscles had to be removed. They consider it a huge victory that they didn't have to remove my colon or bladder or my left leg.
I have had the worst 4 1/2 years...each time I get better and begin to function normally something goes terribly wrong. It's all quite distressing but I'm too far in to give up yet.
*hugs*
*places her paws on her hips and gives the other Fox the look... then gives her a hug...
