Starting Blood Draw

General
I'll be starting at the main hospital for the first two and a half days including today. At first, I was limited to observing how the lab assistants took blood. Eventually, I was allowed to take blood from two of the other lab assistants since they had relatively easy to find veins. All I used today was a small needle known as the butterfly (you can see why they're called such here). They're the easiest to use since they are relatively flexible and cause less discomfort. Eventually, I'll have to use syringes later in the week.
The third and last blood draw I did was from an out patient. He was very nice and relatively calm for letting a student prod at his veins. I didn't even have to poke him more than once!
However, I'll have to get up at 4:30 in the morning (A.K.A. the ass crack of dawn) to start at my morning draws tomorrow. At least I'll be done relatively early, but I'll probably spend that extra time sleeping.
