Friends, Family, and the whole "Furry" Thing

I think about this a lot because, well, being a furry is a big part of my life. I don't have a fursuit (mainly because I can't afford one at the moment), but I'm pretty deep into it, I love being a furry and I'm very proud of what I am, but I don't know how my friends or family feel, even if they know.
As far as I know, most of my friends either don't know, or know and don't care (this is excluding the ones I've told directly I'm a furry). Some just don't know what it is, which is okay.
Now, my parents know I draw anthros. They've seen my art. I don't think they know what a furry is, though if they did, I don't know how they'd feel. I do some pretty weird crap and they love me, so on one hand I don't know if they'd care, but on another, they're the kind to think wrong information is right and assume I have sex with animals in my spare time or something.
Now my main...not really concern, but the main thing I ponder is how other furs deal with dating non-furs. I've been dating a non-fur for almost two years now. He knows I'm a furry and he doesn't care. I mean, he's not going to dress in a fursuit for me anytime soon, but I don't really care and he doesn't care as long as I don't, but how do other people deal with it? Not telling your significant other just seems wrong, I don't like keeping secrets from someone I could possibly marry someday, but I know not all people would take it as well.
I dunno, guess I'm just interested in knowing what other people have say. I've seen plenty of journal entries about furs dating other furs and different species couples, but never anything about fur and non-fur relations....

That couples picture I asked you to draw? The boy is not a furry, but he has a sense of humor about it all. His parents used to call him and his sister a couple of bear cubs when they were very young, and he definitely fits the personality that might be expected from one. :)

I am however coming to terms with being furry. xD I love it.
But for the longest time I worried about what others would think of me if they found out and everything... Much like me being gay and stuff...
Of course, not everyone is THAT accepting (the president of our GSA in high school used to make fun of me for being a furry), but hopefully the people you know care about you enough to accept it =)
I might to my closer friends, I'm pretty sure they won't really mind. But family? Eh, I doubt I'll tell them. But in time I'll come out, not sure when though...
