The Four Kings Part 1: Explaination

NaNo Novel: Here Falls The Thunder
This was something I did a while ago for a Forum RP, and unfortunately, it didn't recieve a great deal of positive reception. Mostly cause everything thought that, while the idea was well worked out, drew attention and focus away from the main story.
This has made me more than a little annoyed. It seems nowadays, writing characters with any kind of deep backstory or thought-out plan is a waste of time, epseically if they're used for any kind of RP. I hate to have a character with an open-ended history, or who's development is supposed to be up in the air. My characters act in a way I dictate. If the story and it's plot causes changes, it will be at my choosing, and if I think it's appropriate.
Of course, why bother RPing, most would ask. It's because it helps me develop my style. Being in an ever changing story, especially one I don't control, is great. Since I have to adapt my style. But when someone tries to take away my ability to control my own characters, that's where I draw the line.
*ahem*
Anyway, back to my idea. Before I start, many of you might see a description for a character, and say "Hey, that's Melfice!" And I'd have to correct you. Melfice is a template for a type of feline that I do. Usually, when anthromorphs are allowed, I ALWAYS play a black feline. No ifs ands or buts about it. The feline's physical shape is always the same as my Melfice Sketch. However, that's where the similarities end.
Physically, Melfice and the 'Melfice look-alike' are the same, with perhaps a few minute difference, like hair length, height, weight. But otherwise they could be twins. Where they really differ is their personality. Also, the personalities tend to be two types.
'Melfice' Type: A more balanced personality. Has emotional issues or standard flaws, but typically tends to be well-rounded. Usually used in fantasy settings, and modern settings for something like high school or college.
And then we have the second type:
'Khym (pronounced Kim)' Type: Reckless, arrogant. Usually a devil-may-care attitude, usually with a very big ego. However, these overly harsh and abrasive qualities hide a usually sensitive interior, that's only seen around a few individuals, or when situations hit close to home.
So, when I speak of Khym, and Melfice, I speak of a character fitting that type. However, the subject of this explaination for my character(s), Khym is an actual character, and the basis for which the entire personality type is founded on.
In Part 2, I'll go into the actual idea!
