Dr Tran series wants itself to be part internet meme, part slapstick humour, part random humour.
It's basically throwing an unwilling Random Asian Child© in the world of him being a super secret agent with a narrator in his life. He is thrown into hilarious, sometimes macabre situations where his life is basically turned upside-down or just ridiculously impossibly so.

Personally, I find Dr Tran somewhat of a take on the "instant idols" process, oftentimes seen in the "American Idol"-style programs where John Doe suddenly finds himself becoming some kind of celebrity. In this case, Dr Tran finds the "aftermath" of such instant-celebrity status, where he is utterly and hopelessly marketed by the companies behind him, most often without even his knowledge (30 000 movies, including "Dr Tran kicks some ass", "Dr Tran has a chat with a mormon child" and "Dr Tran 3D"...).

Personally, I find it hilarious. Especially "Roybertito's". Admittedly, it's not for everyone. But it does tickle my funny bone the right way. :)
