Pen-Pan Sites
15 years ago
Are creepy as shit.
I personally hate talking to anyone older than their teens on there, because they just straight to hitting on you, or depending on where they live, they want to try and move in with you.
Though, I realise that a 21 year old to have in their profile "Seeking: 15-26" looks funny, and most youngins don't want creeps like me, haha.
I just want to practice my Ukrainian, because as with Russian, I need to sit down and read it and also write it myself. But if I'm just writing to myself, I can in no way figure out if it's even remotely right.
But these pen-pal sites... :[ And, ugh. If you're going to go on one of these sites to help somebody else in a language, why can't these people write correctly in them? If someone needs help with English, I make sure to write as grammatically correct as I can (not that I don't already do this most of the time). But this Russian guy (well, somebody who wrote in Russian) just wrote atrociously.
He wrote in internet jargon and these horrible mispellings of things. And this was a few years ago. I was only beginning to practice my Russian seriously again. And if I could tell these mistakes, then they were probably really, really awful.
My dad is always upset when people write in Russian and Ukrainian wrongly, but I reassure him that this is a global pandemic, lol.
IN OTHER WORDS
I figure I have watchers here who speak Ukrainian and wouldn't mind having a boring chat with me? c: At least we'll have art to talk about, comics, whatever.
I'll reply later today to anything on this journal, I'm going to class O:
Why isn't there an Ukrainian-English/Англійська-Українська dictionary around? ;;

I'll look into it. Just chatting with people helps me, too.
