It pains me how true this is.

The media is supposed to be the "4th Branch" here in America, and really is supposed to be the watchdog of the world... But when reporting is done exactly how Charlie Brooker explains it... It turns reality into a cliched existence which is only examined in portions at a time, never brought together and summarized. They don't really care that what they're doing is diluting the importance of current events by sterilizing and "mass-producing" it (via an unchanging method of distributing it). All the media cares about is the bottom line: the money brought it.

It's such bullshit that I often feel more enlightened when I get my news from The Daily Show.
