For me, 2010 has not started out well. At work, it started with being told we are being transferred to Everett. That means I am looking at 3+ hours of commuting every day. Yuck!

Yikes--that totally sucks. I have been taking the train and the local buses for my commute...which is about an hour each way, but having to deal with the train and bus schedules means that it ultimately works out to about 3 hours--altogther, that is. I hope you don't mean your commute will be 3 hours each way!!

Well I've lost my internet connection as of the last of last year. I wonder on how I'm going to finish my commisions . This last few years has been bad (a single bright spot was with the president before Obamination changed everything around with socialists -I bought a nice computer with the money he sent me just for doing my taxes!!!) Obama thus far has raised my taxes even though I am looking at getting a minimum wage only part time job after not having worked in nine months, so much for promises once again from Democrats. So yeah 2009 all around was pretty shitty for most people I know, as well as some of the better artists than me, like you for instance.

I hope you have a better year, all of my dreams won't materialize for another year since I have to pay back nine months before I can start anything new. I am tired of starting over from scratch once again, climbing up to just surviving once again, i'm getting too old for this crap. 2010 looks like another shitty year from the perspective of nine feet down in this hole, I might actually be able to sacrifice some money for a vacation in 2012 just before the asteriod drops into Iran/Iraq and it ends all life on planet earth.

If you want to bash Obama, you've come to the wrong place. After 8 years of King George's fascist policies and corruption which nearly led to the country being completely run into the ground, you've got a LOT of nerve to trot out the over-used and undeserved label of "Obamanation".

Seriously--while I'm disappointed that Obama hasn't been able to do more (largely because of knee-jerk reactionaries like you who somehow think that if the government does ANYTHING for its people it is "socialism"), I still believe that he is trying to fix the horrific mess that was left behind by your favorite president.

BTW--whatEVER else Bush did or did not do, please remember that he STARTED an entirely unnecessary and essentially illegal war that we couldn't afford. At the same time he was spouting off about cutting taxes he was spending TRILLIONS to run two wars--so don't give me any crap about Saint Bush saving you money.

I also maintain that the only threat to Earth the we face in 2012 is the possibility of Palin (someone EVEN dumber than Bush) getting into the White House.

In any case...I am sorry to be so grumpy about this, but I see Republicans tearing down Oabam and working so blatantly against him all the time after years of supporting Bush's completely un-American policies and it just drives me up the wall. I hope you do have a really great year--but if you DO, try and remember who was president when you had it.

All the eight years under Clinton the thankfully Ex president, I didn't have that good of a time either. I was homeless three times and was unable to even get food stamps or any knd of welfare. each time I was able to get a job and work out from under that rock, once again another Clinton program would force my employer to cut back with the only place they could, new hires, namely MY job! So don't come out with saying that change is the same thing as hope. There is an even older saying if it ain't broken don't fix it.
Here is another bumber sticker I saw while looking for work in the working for the very socialistic party that has made sure I never get a break because I'm white and poor as a census taker, it was One Big Mistake America's Making Again - as a reference back to ex president Clinton. Even though extremely mean it made me smile for a second. then I thought it was inappropriate. President Obama must find a way to jam health care down america's throat even if some of us will be hurt financially by it. (I don't need health care, so I will get a thousand dollar fine for not having any, I don't see that as anything as much as it is socialistic government penalizing me for being healthy).
Last year I was thinking I would actually get a return equal to the one I recieved in 2008, but no I got to pay more taxes and my return was about 300 dollars instead of the 650 I got the year before. I make less than 22,000 a year! the poverty wage is 26,000. IN california I got nothing back and was supposed to get back a measely 160 bucks nothing ever came in the mail. the Democrat legislature here probobly decided that since I vote non partisan means I'm not voting for Democrats so I should get NONE of my taxes back even though I am poor!
So no I don't like government saying to me you can't be a normal person unless you are a democrat.
BUt it is the spokespersons we are argueing about that don't really have any real power. Instead the real problems are with Bereaucrats and lobbyists that have control of government. Either Republican or Democrat makes zero difference once voted into office, the governement workers that work in days like we work in hours surf the net looking for porn all day instead of doing thier jobs cannot ever be fired or voted out of office. Government being too large is why California is in financial ruin right now. But we have the legislature having to rely on beareuactars since they are the ones that have been in government the longest. The figureheads get the spotlight but who does the actual work? lobbyists and Beaureucrats. They actually are the real problem. And now our far seeing president in his infinate wisdom is hiring even more governemtn workers that are paid how? By the private sector. that means I will and you will be paying more and higher taxes. Isn't that great!? to fix the Problem Our wonder President Obama is going to fix things by hiring more beareaucrats and lobbyists than ever before in the history of the United States!
I am so thankful YOU voted him office to force me into never having a break in llife, oh thank you thank you!
But Yes I hope you have a good year too, I need to work on my art so that when I can finally dig out from under the last nine months of no unemployment insurance payments and four months of food stamps with another minimum wage short hours jobs that maybe by this time two years from now I might get the internet again, unless unless another socail welfare tax burdens me with more taxes I can't afford or I get my job cut out from under me again.

well that was longer than I wanted it to be. But I had to present my viewpoint from a perspective that was understood, I don't like soundbites.

Well Clinton was another problem--one that we actually are experiencing again, insofar as Obama is compromising too heavily with his opponents, where Bush just railroaded his way over anyone who opposed him. Seems like both methods don't work out well. I'm not saying that Republicans are always wrong and Dems are always right, believe me. My problem is with the conservatives who talk big about their party's core beliefs and then turn around and support party members who violate those values. And the Dems do it too, so I'm not merely running down Republicans.

Nor am I saying that you are wrong or evil if you are a Republican...only that you probably are. ;) Seriously--my biggest concern with both parties is that they have skewed so far away from the center that they can no longer work together effectively--but I definitely feel the Right has skewed farther. I've just seen too many Right yahoos calling Obama evil and unAmerican and trying to stick knee-jerk labels on him when they totally supported Bush who was a homophobic, corrupt, hypocritical idiot. And pimping Palin like they are, it just seems like they're doing it again. As for your accusations against the Dems penalizing you for not being a Democrat--that's more of a Republican tactic in my experience.

I shouldn't get into these kinds of discussions. Nobody's mind is ever changed and it just makes me all tense. My blood pressure is bad enough already. Suffice to say, we are on different sides of this issue and we'll probably just have to leave it at that.

as for republican that pretty much ended with me when religion came in and took it over. Since then I think of myself as non partisan, since the democrats don't want me to ever have my own business. The republicans used to leave business alone, now they are all progressives like Wilson and Roosevelt.
