Last week I asked my mum if it's okay that I can set up my Playstation 2 again in our living room, and she gave me A-OK as long as it's top of DVD player (since she doesn't like using Playstation 2 for DVDs needs - and I can understand why! You'd need to use controller, and two, it sometimes doesn't read "pirated" DVDs very well - not that she has many of these, just select few.)
Re-setting it up, and so far I'm glad I did. I managed to finish Kingdom Hearts 1 on Expert Mode finally - just gave up on 100% ness and decide to go after final boss....which is... easy even on Expert >_> Mind you, I was Lv65 with decent weapon (not Ulimate Weapon, though) and even only having Cura (instead of Curaga, I can't remember how you got that spell anyway) & he was still pushover. KH2 boss was rather difficult, and that was Lv100 on Normal too!
But anyways, I've bought 10+ PS2 games, to expand my PS2 collection once again - and having said that, I've picked up Yakuza for THREE pounds @ CEX, and Yakuza 2, brand new & sealed for £10.49 @ Ebay. I also bought Mass Effect 2 - which is brilliant - I decided to take breather on ME2 (because I was playing it all day yesterday and half of today) when post arrived, and I thought I'd give Yakuza a playthrough, maybe for like a hour or so.
That becomes into 7 hour session (with breaks obviously - I do have my needs!), it has gripped me so much thanks to mass of side-quests, awesome story AND excellent characters - it does have "Shenmue" feeling to it, yet I felt it's much better than Shenmue (apart from story wise, which is Shenmue's strongest point) due to gameplay & combat being simpler, so you don't need to memorise all these attacks - just light/heavy punches & kick, mixing it up and such. I have to say I wish I've gotten into Yakuza earlier to see how brilliance it is, but better late than never - and in time for Yakuza 3 too (which will be in US & Europe @ March 2010), something that even drags away from Mass Effect 2 for long time shows that Yakuza is THAT good.
Seriously, if you loved Shenmue or EVEN don't like the complexness of combat in Shenmue but loved the story, give Yakuza a try. It's one of finest games, in my opinion. Only do if you want to, that is! :-P Anyway what about PS2 games I just got? Other than Yakuza 1&2, I've also got: Final Fantasy X-2; Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers (I loved this), XIII (that cartoon FPS), Jak & Daxter 1, WWE SmackDown Vs Raw 2006 (my second favourite WWE game - first one is SD! 2 Know Your Role), Kingdom Hearts 2 (I had it but sold it, got it again though to play it again on Expert this time) & GTA: Vice City (My favourite GTA game)
Also Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness, yeah I know its horrible game but I wanted to give it a try anyway, since I'm big of Tomb Raider series and it's only £3 anyway... but Game Centre gave me disc for TR: Legend instead, will have to go in Monday to let them know :-P Which I'll be also picking up Ratchet & Clank series on PS2 on that day, hopefully.
Anyway that's all for today
