The Style Chooses the Artist?
Is it possible that in truth an artist is not so much the chooser of what style (s)he wants, but rather, is given a style during the training period? The way the artist passes his/her ordeals becoming the way their style manifests on any canvas? Depending on how an artist works ou problems or even thinks could very well cause such expression to become apparent in the way the artist holds a brush or pencil...ohhhhh, very deep...!
In conclusion: You don't become an artist by choosing your style from the beginning, sure, it helps to limit the possibilites of what style you come out with, but all in all, your style manifests only after training has commenced, becoming more and more obvious to make out as you allow yourself to develope during practice or work.

It's more a fifty/fifty event. You have to branch out to various styles when training so the the style that works for you can be revealed! My latest piece is a prime example of the process as I move to newer things. I'm planning to make a "tutorial" that details the process of finding there own style. Should be fun right?

You can work with any style you wish, but you can't choose your talents. I use "you" hypothetically, of course. :P
