BARRRRF. Eyuck.

I was about to go on a rant here, but I guess you guys get enough of that from me. Let's just say I hope Zevran and Leliana are omitted rather than twisted to fit his personal viewpoints. Fortunately, that's a good possibility, since Alistair and Morrigan are the more focused upon characters.

...but then, from more of a purely fangirl standpoint, I don't really like the idea of the comic writing being handed over to someone totally uninvolved with the game. I suppose they got him because he's a big-ish name?

Oh well. It's the game(s) I'm mainly interested in, anyway. *licks chops for expansion pack coming in March*

Well,I never heard of this "Dragon Age", but I've read most of Orson Scott Card's books, and I actual just put his "Pastwatch" book down a few minutes ago to check FA. Whatever this comic is about, I'm sure you wont be disapoined by it. o.o

Well, talented writer or not, there's always some risk in passing the writing over to someone entirely different. No writer is a jack of all trades, nor can they pick up where another writer's (or small group of writers, in the case of a game) ideas were exactly - every writer interprets settings and characters through their own eyes. That's not to say it can't work - it certainly can - but it can just as easily become a big, sticky mess.

As for my concerns about those two characters, they're both pretty blatantly queer - considering Card despises homosexuality with an open, verbose passion, I'm hoping he'll leave them alone, or at least leave that aspect of them alone, since there's no way he'd treat it with respect.

Yeah, try to look at the bright side: Zevran and Leliana are bisexual, so a dude like Card will probably just totally ignore the gay side of their characters and focus on the parts he likes, rather than turn these two pre-existing characters into horrible strawmen for behaviour he personally doesn't like. It's not a great turn of events, but it's better than it could have been. :P

I never heard of him despising homosexaulity..but I would not know if this is true or false, I just read his works. Although, if you read "The Homecoming Saga", he has a gay charater within the series. He treats him, well, fairly I should say. This is just my opinion.

I haven't read the Homecoming Saga, so I can't comment on that - I just know that he writes long anti-gay essays, says that all homosexuals without exception were sexually abused at some point, and supports making gay sex illegal.
