Hmm comments can be compliments, critiques, funny playful, ways to communicate to others. Sometimes comments are mean.

In answer to your question. I think you're right! Most people are too busy. I fav a lot too but don't comment as much as I should.

there's a difference from critique and critic. sadly a critic seeks to find only bad and make it known as the only thing u do. a critique is anilizing the image telling the faults as well as the good that makes it such a wonderful pic. sadly most dont recall how to do that or never were shown how to.

ive come to learn to ignore the critics and listen to the critiques. i dont care bout bad comments if i dont like it i ignore it specially with he web its easy to do here in person its a lil harder but still possible to do.

most of the time when i get up i have over 200 pictures to look at >.> to much to comment on every one, and plus the fact im trapped on dial up internet doesn't help either, but i do try to comment ever so often

it may take a while but i like to comment sadly not often do i have time available to do so. dial up can be a hassle i know i had it for a long time myself.

Heehee, that's been bugging me a little lately, too - I seem to be getting a lot of faves without comments just lately, and I really don't like that. I much prefer comments without faves, because then I get something fun to read! ^.^

ive spent yrs knowing how to say whats best sadly some people dont know the art vernacular id actually prefer to use. so i try to think of simpler ways to say something an end up only saying a few words .

I leave comments on things that I can think of a response to XD If I don't know how to respond to a picture or a journal, I generally don't bother replying, because my comment would be worthless anyway.

Same for me, either im in a rush or forget, I usually save comments for the art that really catches my interest, I try not to comment -every- pic i fave, would be very time consuming <.<; I think your art, and Levithen's are the art I've commented most, you're art is so adorable <3

Sometimes if i'm not on for a good while and then come back, I find that I have a bunch of submissions. ^^; I too am ususally the type of person to fave and leave a comment. But in this case, I simply fave and move on. I think I don't have time to comment because I could be busy with something completely different and important.

Same answer as always from me: just never have anything worthwhile to say. And since I'm not a fan of the one word comments ("Cool" or "Neat" or whatever), more often than not I just remain silent :/

Usually, since I always wait a long time to look through my unchecked submissions, there are already a ton of comments, so everything that could be said probably has been already. Plus, my comments are usually just "Awesome! Nice Art " because I'm no good at giving critiques or giving pointers (if I were a better artist, I could probably give good helpful advice...).

Sometimes people leave annoying, irrelevant comments...

My excuse in most cases is that I can't always think of anything constructive or interesting to say. I try to avoid spamming comments like "cute pic!".

I'm usually in a rush, and get distracted easily, then forget, once had 15 artworks open at one time when I woke up in the morning, I didn't kow what to do with them.
